Bow Wow mirrored on how getting hospitalized in 2007 helped him combat his habit to lean.
"I used to be sipping so much syrup. I was consuming that s–t like loopy," the rapper, 36, stated throughout a Monday, February 12, interview with The Art of the Dialogue. "For those who return and watch The Street to Platinum documentary collection on BET, you'll see so many white styrofoam cups and Hawaiian punch bottles. I was dropping my f–king thoughts. That lean s–t had me f–ked up. I used to be just all the time irritated."
Bow Wow, whose actual identify is Shad Gregory Moss, recalled continually using lean whereas he was collaborating with Omarion on their album Face Off. Lean, also called sizzurp, is a mixture of promethazine and codeine-based cough syrup that is sometimes combined with tender drinks.
The musician revealed he didn't understand he had picked up a dependency on the drug-infused beverage since he doesn't have an "addictive" character. When Bow Wow performed his first show on a joint tour with Chris Brown, he ended up in the hospital.
"Opening night time was in Cincinnati. And once I obtained off stage, I collapsed. I went straight to Cincinnati College Hospital," Bow Wow recalled, noting he was 18 or 19 years previous. "My stomach was so f–ked up that I ended up going back house to Atlanta after the primary present."
Bow Wow had to pull out of the tour to give attention to his recovery. Once he made it residence, the rapper confessed he began to feel worse as he was "throwing up," "shivering" and "sweating." He was so concerned about his symptoms that he went to the hospital once more, bundled up in the midst of the summer time.
"I pull up to the hospital with two hoodies on and sweats. [Do] you understand how scorching it gets in Atlanta? Scorching as a mother f–ker, scorching as s-t and I'm f–king freezing," he stated. "I didn't know I was having withdrawals. That's how much lean I was consuming."
