Manny Abarca, a legislator from Jackson County, Missouri, attended the event together with his daughter, telling NBC News on Wednesday that the rally felt like a "social hour" earlier than chaos ensued.

The Kansas City Police Department confirmed on Wednesday that gunshots have been fired close to the west finish of Union Station. Multiple injuries have been reported, and an area radio station later introduced that DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan died in the shooting.

The police department instructed everyone on the parade to "depart the world" in a press release shared by way of social media, adding, "Officers are working to clear Union Station itself. We'll launch everyone inside the constructing as soon as that's full."

Within the wake of the capturing, attendees have shared social media movies of their experience. One fan, Gabe Wallace, advised the Kansas City Star that he was comforted by Chiefs Coach Reid in the course of the capturing.

"He was sort of hugging me, identical to, 'Are you OK, man? Are you OK? Simply please breathe,'" Wallace noted. "He was being actual nice and all the things."

"Our thoughts are with the victims and everybody affected. We're grateful for the fast and thorough response of regulation enforcement and emergency personnel."

The Chiefs shared an identical sentiment. "We are really saddened by the mindless act of violence that occurred outdoors of Union Station at the conclusion of right now's parade and rally," the workforce's statement learn. "Our hearts go out to the victims, their households and all of Kansas Metropolis."

The workforce confirmed that they have been "in shut communication" with the mayor's workplace and Kansas City Police Division, confirming that the "gamers, coaches, employees, and their families" have been protected following the incident.

"We thank the local regulation enforcement officers and first responders who have been on-scene to help," the Chiefs group concluded.
