Toby Keith has died on the age of 62, his social media has announced.
The nation musician's X, previously Twitter, account shared a press release in the present day revealing Keith died final night time.
'Toby Keith handed peacefully last night time on February 5th, surrounded by his family. He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect the privateness of his household right now,' the message learn, giving no further particulars.
The US icon– recognized for his Billboard number one hit, Courtesy of the Pink, White and Blue – was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2021.
Posting a press release to Instagram in 2022, Keith wrote: 'Last fall I was recognized with stomach cancer. I've spent the final 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery.'
Over his profession, Keith had 42 prime ten hits in the US, 32 primary songs, and he bought 40 million albums after his debut single Should've Been a Cowboy rocketed him to fame within the 1990s.
'Most cancers is a rollercoaster. You simply sit here ready for it to go away, it might by no means go away,' he advised News 9 earlier this month.
Requested how he acquired via the years, Keith put it right down to 'religion'.
'Thank god that I've received it. Since you take it as a right on days things are good, and also you lean on it when things are dangerous. It's taught me to lean on it a bit more daily.'

'Lots of people go in and make it an enormous profession like this for 30 years,' he stated, whereas crediting his 'lovely household' and group for his or her help.
'And everyone that's all behind this thing. All the good musicians who have performed on all these albums, within the studios, they've poured their heart and soul into what I do. And most of all, I need to thank the followers for still allowing us to do what we do.'
Keith is survived by his wife of just about 40 years, Tricia Lucus, who he met shortly after graduating from highschool.
He was working within the oil fields and enjoying in bars at night time when the couple began courting, they usually married after three years.
Tricia welcomed daughter Shelley Covel earlier than assembly Keith, and he later adopted her.
They went on to have two extra youngsters; daughter Krystal in 1985, and son Stelen in 1997.
Krystal is a musician and recording artist, and has two youngsters – Kirby and Hensley.
Keith and Tricia started the Toby Keith Foundation in 2006, set up to help youngsters and their households cope with most cancers.
