Newcastle are aware that Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is exploring options after missing the Reds' 2-0 win over Ipswich on Saturday. The 27-year-old, who wants more regular starting opportunities and in his favoured centre-back position, was not included in Arne Slot's first Premier League matchday squad at Portman Road this weekend. Jarell Quansah was given the nod at centre-half alongside Virgil van Dijk before being ruthlessly hooked by the Dutch manager for Ibrahima Konate at half time.
