Preston interim manager Mike Marsh has stood down from his role just five days into his tenure. Marsh's shock announcement follows Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Swansea City. He had been given temporary charge of the club alongside coaching staff Peter Murphy and Ched Evans, following Ryan Lowe's departure after just one game. Lowe left his position at the Championship club after just the first game of the season – a 2-0 loss to Sheffield United – but had managed the team since 2021.
