Hawthorn players and coaches have celebrated the end of their footy season in dramatically dialed down scenes compared to the Mad Monday parties of yesteryear in scenes that would more fittingly be called 'Mild Monday'. The AFL and clubs themselves have taken a dim view on the traditional end-of-season shenanigans in recent years, as scandals, party-related injuries and boozed-up players put a dent in the sport's. While footy purists will argue the players deserve their day of fun in a tradition that dates back to the 1800s, the modern player has to deal with smartphones and social media monitoring their every move.
