Lee Carsley does not believe a candidate for the England job should be overlooked because of their nationality, amid reports linking Thomas Tuchel with the role. The German has been out of work since his disappointing spell at Bayern Munich ended in the summer but he remains one of the best managers on the planet following impressive stints with Borussia Dortmund, PSG and Chelsea. Reports on Tuesday claimed that Tuchel had held talks with the FA about succeeding Gareth Southgate and occupying the position Carsley currently holds on an interim basis.
