James Peatling has requested a trade away from GWS after speculation had been mounting that the Western Bulldogs had shown an interest in snapping up the out-of-contract midfielder. The Giants snapped the Sydneysider up with the eighth pick of the 2021 AFL Mid-season draft, and he has since gone on to become a big asset to the club and simultaneously attracting interest from rival sides around the AFL. It had appeared that both of the Bulldogs and Collingwood had been keen to snap the 24-year-old up.
