There is one obvious sign that players have stopped listening to a coach: performances. Everyone will see levels drop – individually and collectively. But there are other indicators that fans might never notice. Signs that the message has become stale. Signs that the players have begun to shut off. Signs that orders are not being received with the same vigor. When everyone is on the same page, even the most basic instruction will spark a reaction: a fist pump, a rallying cry.
