Police Scotland have launched an investigation into allegations of fraud at stricken League One side Dumbarton. Local directors of the 152-year-old club called in the administrators after concluding they could no longer pay the wages of players and staff earlier this week. As Mail Sport revealed, Cognitive Capital, an English-based investment company who owns 80 per cent of the Sons, branded the decision 'unnecessary' and 'reckless' and are now seeking legal advice on how to overturn the move.
