Dual Aussie gold medallist reveals why he is taking a 12-month sabbatical following his heroics in Paris
Aussie sailor Matt Wearn is set to take some time away from competing to mull over his Olympic future, following his feats at the Paris Games. After successfully defending his gold medal in the men's Laser in August, the 29-year-old has announced he'll be taking a 12-month sabbatical from the dinghy. Having spoken with his coach Rafa Trujillo, Wearn said he was looking to delve into different aspects of the sport to better understand if his hunger to compete in a Laser at Los Angeles 2028 were still there.
