Preston Smith has been released by the Steelers - just two months after the NFL veteran arrived in Pittsburgh. Mike Tomlin's team signed the linebacker from the Green Bay Packers ahead of the NFL trade deadline back in November. The 32-year-old, who has spent a decade in the NFL, played eight games for the Steelers as they reached the playoffs. But the outside linebacker has now been axed by Pittsburgh in a move that saves the team more than $13million in cap space for 2025.
