As we enter the first week of October, the past few weeks have been filled with blockbusters and independent films for audiences to discover. From films about a mysterious ringing phone to decade spanning love stories, this season is full of blockbusters and independent film for everyone to watch on the big screen for the next few weeks.

The first wide release of this week will be Universal's "Black Phone 2," starring Ethan Hawke and Mason Thames. The film follows "5-year-old Gwen as she receives calls from the black phone and sees disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp. Accompanied by her brother, Finn, they head to the camp to solve the mystery, only to confront the Grabber — a killer who's grown even more powerful in death."
