At least nine people were killed and a dozen more wounded in a shooting at Sydney's popular Bondi Beach on Dec. 14, Australian police said.
New South Walespolice said in a statement that two suspects had been taken into custody. The public service Australian Broadcasting Corp said one of at least two gunmen was killed.
Local media reportsciting eyewitnesses said the shooting began while some people were attending a Hanukkah-related event on the beach. Australia has experienced a string of antisemitic attacks on synagogues, buildings and cars since the beginning of Israel's war in Gaza in October 2023.
