Gene Hackman's Santa Fe, N.M., estate has hit the market nearly one year afterhe and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, died there.
According to theWall Street Journal, the late actor's 13,000-square-foot gated home, wherehe and Arakawa lived since the 1990s, is for sale at $6.25 million and is listed by Tara S. Earley and Ricky Allen of Sotheby's International Realty.
The six-bedroom estate, located in a gated community, The Summit, just north of downtown Santa Fe, includes a putting green and an artist's studio.

Hackman toldArchitectural Digestin 1990 that he was attracted to Santa Fe after filming a couple of movies there. "It had a kind of magic in it," he said at the time. TheFrench Connectionactor was also involved in every part of transforming the home when he bought it.
All of Hackman and Arakawa's personal effects have been removed from the properrty and the house has been professionally staged, according toWSJ.
"There will be some buyers that are just adverse to purchasing a property where a death has occurred," Earley told the outlet. "There are other buyers for whom that doesn't matter. We are selling the property on its virtues and all of the positives."
The main house offers floor-to-ceiling windows, a living room with exposed beams, and a library where the couple watched movies together. Both the main house and guest house have three bedrooms. The property also features acres of woodland, and it has a lap pool and a pagoda-covered hot tub.
The listing comes almost one year after Hackman and Arakawa werefound dead inside the homeon Feb. 26, 2025 in advanced states of decomposition.
Hackman was found in a mudroom of the house, while Arakawa was found collapsed in a bathroom, per a search warrant affidavit reviewed by PEOPLE.One of the couple's three dogs was also found dead.

Arakawa died fromhantavirus pulmonary syndrome, a flu-like virus that is linked to rodent droppings.
Hackman died a week later from a combination of severe heart disease, high blood pressure andadvanced Alzheimer's disease. He was alsolikely in the house with his wife's bodyfor several days.
A memorial was held in Santa Fefor the actor and the pianist in April 2025.
