Hilary Duff Equates Husband and 4 Kids Joining Her on Summer Tour to a 'Big, Long Road Trip' (Exclusive)

Hilary Duff says her husband, Matthew Koma, and her four children will join her on the road during her The Lucky Me tour this summer

The singer and actress, 38, will embark on herThe Lucky Me tourthis summer, when she will sing some of her most iconic songs, as well as tracks from her new album,Luck... or Something.

Joining Duff on tour, she tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview, will be her husband,Matthew Koma, and herfour children: sonLuca, 14, and daughtersBanks, 7,Mae, 5, andTownes, 23 months.

"I spent hours with my assistant [looking at] the tour schedule, being like, 'Okay, I want them here for this stretch. They can go home these days,' " Duff says. "It's been a lot of logistics that can seriously bend a brain, but it's going to be an adventure."

"All of these cities have so much to offer, and I feel like there would be no other time when my kids would see the U.S. like this, so we're just thinking of it as a big, long road trip," she continues, adding with a laugh: "And hopefully, they don't get bored with seeing my show every night."

Duff — who has partnered with the fitness appLadder— welcomed her first child, son Luca, in 2012 with her then-husband,Mike Comrie.

After the pair's split, Duff and Koma, 38, began a relationship, and the pair married in 2019. They later welcomed daughters Banks in October 2018, Mae in March 2021 and Townes in May 2024.

"I think that the little ones are going to be there most of the time," Duff tells PEOPLE of her young daughters' involvement in her touring schedule.

As for her eldest child? The musician teases, "[He's] a teenager, so he's not going to be giving me four weeks of his summer. But he'll be bopping in and out, for sure."

Duff's The Lucky Me Tour will travel the globe, with shows in countries including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. It kicks off on June 22 in West Palm Beach, Fla., and it is currently scheduled to conclude in January 2027 in Mexico City, Mexico.

The Lucky Me Tour follows Duff'sSmall Rooms, Big Nervesmusic outing, which took place earlier this year and marked her first time touring in more than a decade.

During the Small Rooms, Big Nerves tour, Duff sang some of her biggest hits, and, for the first time ever, she also performed "What Dreams Are Made of" — her fan-favorite classic fromThe Lizzie McGuire Movie. New tracks fromLuck... or Something— including "Mature," "Roommates" and "Weather for Tennis" —were also performed by Duff.

"I'm so excited for the scale to change," Duff tells PEOPLE ahead of the tour's kickoff. "There is something so sweet about getting to see everyone's face, and being so intimate and close with everyone — and it was really a great way for me to start and build confidence — but I just feel like I know what I'm doing and kind of got my reps in. Now I'm ready for more."
