Despite holding a 2-1 lead after three games, the Atlanta Dream have allowed the Golden State Valkyries to make a stunning comeback in the 2026 WNBA Finals.
After all, following Game 5, the Dream are now down 3-2 in the series. Speaking of which, the Dream star Angel Reese made headlines even before the matchup kicked off.
Why? Well, Reese flaunted a T-Shirt before the game that WNBA fans and experts didn't really like.
Reese is known for her rather flamboyant fashion sense, but the Dream star wore a simple T-Shirt and jeans ahead of Game 5.
But Reese's T-Shirt read 'Protect Black Women' in bold letters and this didn't sit well with WNBA fans on social media.
"She is so easy to dislike," a fan wrote. While another simply asked, "Why? Is someone out to get them?"
A third fan didn't mince their words and stated: "Victimhood is their identity." A fourth fan added: "For once, she's not absurdly overdressed."
"That's why most people think this league is a joke!" a fifth fan furiously wrote.
Of course, there were some fans who sympathised with Reese and reacted positively to her T-Shirt. But the majority of fans were furious with her actions.
Reese having an off-night on the court did no favours as she was held to just seven points by the Valkyries' defence.
