Evans prevailed in the longest match in US Open history despite trailing his Russian opponent Karen Khachanov 4-0 in the deciding set. The Brit reeled off six games on the trot to seal an incredible victory in five hours and 33 minutes, winning 6-7, 7-6, 7-6, 4-6, 6-4.
