A former Aston Villa academy player has retired from football at the age of 22 due to injury. The centre back spent 12 years with Aston Villa in their academy before being released in 2023 while he was in what he has described as 'the hardest three seasons in my career'. He had been backed to make his way into the Villa first team, having progressed through the age groups at the club as injuries started to have an impact on his journey.
