Earlier this year, Chris Thomson set himself the goal of running 32 ultra marathons on 32 successive days around Scotland to raise money for several charities. For most people, that would be enough to last a lifetime. For the 34-year-old Scot, completing it was just the start. Last week, he embarked on a 320kilometre run circumnavigating the island of Mauritius. Starting on Saturday, November 11, it took him six days to cover the route, facing extreme heat, tough trails and endless fields of sugar cane.
