After a year that has tested his golf, mind and marriage like no other, Rory McIlroy broke down in tears under the desert sun on Sunday. By his candid admission, this has been the most emotionally draining season of his career, but he at least achieved a happy ending here in Dubai by completing the double of winning the DP World Tour Championship and a sixth order of merit.
