Liverpool moved eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Southampton. Arne Slot's side took the lead when Dominik Szoboszlai curled the ball home on the half hour mark before Adam Armstrong pounced to finish from close-range after his penalty was saved three minutes before the break. Southampton took the lead against the run of play in the 56th minute through Mateus Fernandes before Mohamed Salah levelled the game nine minutes later.
