West Ham issue Michail Antonio health update after star was airlifted to hospital following horror Ferrari crash on his way home from training

West Ham striker Michail Antonio has had surgery on a fractured leg following his horrific car accident on Saturday. The Premier League club confirmed today that the 34-year-old would remain in hospital under supervision of medical staff. Antonio crashed his silver Ferrari on Saturday lunchtime in Epping Forest, Essex and was trapped for more than 45 minutes as fire crews worked to free him from his car. West Ham had released a statement last night to say Antonio was in a stable condition after being rushed to a central London hospital and was 'conscious and communicating' while he remained under close supervision by medical staff.
