Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville questioned Matthijs de Ligt's actions in the incident which led to a Liverpool penalty against the Red Devils. Ruben Amorim's side were much-improved in their showdown against the league leaders and took a shock lead just after half time. But the Reds responded with Cody Gakpo's strike before they were gifted the chance to take the lead from the spot. Referee Michael Oliver pointed for a spot-kick after an on-field review following De Ligt's handball.
