Jon Favreauhyped up his newStar Warsmovie,The Mandalorian and Grogu, during Disney's presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Thursday.

The filmmaker took the stage to introduce the film's final trailer. After it played, he told the audience he wished he could show more — and then went ahead and did so, playing the action-packed opening scenes.

The film opens in the heat of battle, with Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin chasing after an imperial baddie, dispatching with countless stormtroopers with laser blasts, flamethrowers, and good old-fashioned fisticuffs. Grogu also gets in on the action, using the Force to tear apart an enemy droid into scraps.

When the Mandalorian's target escapes into an AT-AT, our hero and his little buddy track him down through snowy terrain on a Mod scooter before climbing aboard the giant four-legged walker and mowing down another crop of stormtroopers. When the bad guy again gets away on an escape ship, the Mandalorian takes control of the AT-AT's guns and shoots his craft out of the sky, before flying away with his jet pack just as the walker explodes into a fireball.

The preview then continued on a tropical planet, where Djarin collects his bounty from Sigourney Weaver's Ward, a New Republic colonel who fought as a member of the Rebel Alliance. She rewards him with a new Razor Crest, the same type of ship Djarin and Grogu used to ride before it was destroyed in the show. She goes on to brief him on his next mission, which involves Jeremy Allen White's Rotta the Hut.

The upcoming film comes after the events ofThe Mandalorian's three seasons on Disney+ and the character's appearance inThe Book of Boba Fett.

White's Rotta was previously depicted as a disgusting little baby in the 2008 animated movieStar Wars: The Clone Wars, and looks quite different now that he's aged several decades — he somehow has abs and huge biceps despite all otherStar Warsmedia suggesting that such fitness levels are impossible for his species.

Martin Scorsese also delivers a voiceover performance in the movie as an Ardennian shop owner. He's the same species as Rio Durant, the character whom Favreau voiced in 2018'sSolo: A Star Wars Story.

The Mandalorian and Grogusoars into theaters on May 22.
