Cyndi Lauper's son has been arrested after a capturing in New York.
The Women Just Need To Have Fun singer shares 26-year-old son Declyn 'Dex' Thornton Lauper together with her husband, David Thornton.
He was taken into custody on Wednesday evening, in connection with an incident in Harlem, after being caught in possession of medicine and a weapon.
A spokesperson for the NYPD confirmed to Metro.co.uk that officers responded to a 911 name at approximately 7.15pm.
Upon their arrival, they discovered that a 24-year-old man had been shot in the fitting leg, with the Emergency Medical Providers (EMS) taking him to Mount Sinai Morningside-St. Luke's Hospital in secure situation.
Amid an ongoing investigation, Declyn was arrested and charged with legal possession of a weapon, and legal possession of a controlled substance.
It isn't clear whether or not this was related to the capturing.
Another man was also charged with felony possession of a weapon.
This isn't the first time that Declyn, a budding musician, has been in hassle with the regulation, as he was previously arrested in a stolen automotive in 2022.
He was discovered in the driver's seat of an illegally double-parked Mercedes, and was later charged with 'unauthorized use of a car'.
