As part of her historic 28-point second half in Game 7 of the WNBA Finals, Williams drilled a 30-foot three-point shot that -- with just 2:18 remaining in the fourth quarter -- had the feeling of a big, decisive shot.

Now it's possible to quantify just how decisive that tie-breaking three-ball was.

According to data scientist Mike Beuoy on X, Williams' three over Allisha Gray -- which handed the Golden State Valkyries a 60-57 lead -- increased the Valkyries' chances to win the championship by a staggering 21 percent.

The Valkyries' chances to beat the Atlanta Dream grew from 54 percent to 75 percent, and Golden State would not relinquish the lead on the way to a 68-63, title-securing win.

Beuoy's methodology rates Williams' shot as the 10th-most impactful in the history of the WNBA, based on how much it swung Golden State's chances to win.

This math makes Williams' Finals MVP nod even more of a slam dunk. She literally hit the most important shot of the series, of the season and of her career as she led Golden State to a historic championship.
