NEED TO KNOW

  • As she put it, "It's actually really hard when we're talking about these things. And for me to go get a therapist, all of it is so f---ing complicated"

  • The singer and actress has been candid about the mental health challenges she's faced in the past

Selena Gomezis opening up about hermental health journey.

While appearing on the March 3 episode ofFriends Keep Secretspodcast alongside husbandBenny Blanco, the singer-actress, 33, recalled being "misdiagnosed" before ultimately receiving her bipolar disorder diagnosis.

"I knew something was wrong, but I think I was misdiagnosed," Gomez said. "People were just assuming, and I would try multiple therapists. And that's why it's hard. It's actually really hard when we're talking about these things. And for me to go get a therapist, all of it is so f---ing complicated."

Going on to explain that finding the right diagnosis and treatments took going through "multiple different people," theOnly Murders in the Buildingactress emphasized how important it was to remember that "you can't just give up."

While going to "four different rehabs" ultimately helped Gomez to better understand her diagnosis, Blanco, 37, noted that she will still occasionally "have moments where she's having mania and she doesn't know."

"She'll start to realize she's having it after it's happening, and sometimes she doesn't even remember when it's happening," the record producer, whowed Gomez in September, explained. "It's such a delicate thing because you're not supposed to technically talk to that person about it while they're deep in it. And it's like, even dating her and she's so hyperaware, she'll be like, 'I think I'm feeling a little manic.' "

In response, Gomez made it clear that those "moments of mania" are never something she's ashamed of.

"I'm not ashamed at all because I can catch them a bit quicker," she emphasized. "But it is helpful to have a partner that will understand where the temperature is at and meet you where you are, and then you gradually understand what's happening."

As time goes on and she continues to better understand how her bipolar disorder affects her everyday life, the "Calm Down" singer said that she's been able to live her life more "freely" than ever before.

"That's the problem with misconception," Gomez said. "The whole hypocrisy of shaming people for therapy or people not understanding it is that it's just not for you. That's completely fine, but for me, it finally allowed me to go, 'Oh, that's why I handled things the way I handled it. That's why all the other people were able to get over things so quickly and I wasn't.'"

"I would act out of fear, I would act out of love, I would act out of passion," she added. "It was all inconsistent, it was crazy."

The formerMatlockstar, who wasdismissed from the legal dramain October following an investigation into an incident involving him, has entered arbitration against the network.

"David Del Rio has initiated arbitration against CBS Studios to address false and misleading allegations that caused substantial professional and reputational harm," the actor's attorney, Shawn Holley, said in a statement provided toEntertainment Weekly.

Holley said Del Rio will "present real-time text communications and evidence that directly contradicts prior public characterizations of the interaction at issue." She added, "This evidence was not fully considered before adverse employment action was taken."

Holley's statement concluded, "Mr. Del Rio looks forward to resolving this matter through the appropriate legal forum and has faith that a full evidentiary review will establish the truth and restore his professional reputation."

Holley's statement marks the first official statement that Del Rio or any of his representatives have released since his exit fromMatlock.

CBS declined to comment on the matter.

Del Rio played up-and-coming lawyer Billy Martinez on the first season ofMatlock. He had already completed work on several episodes on the show's second season when he was dismissed from the show just before it premiered last fall.

Last month, EW learned that CBSreopened its investigationinto the incident in question, and subsequently stood by its decision to remove Del Rio from the show.

Upon Del Rio's exit, Billy was written out of the series. The actor's last appearance on the show came in the Dec. 4 episode, "Prior Bad Acts." In the following episode, the season 2 midseason finale "Call It a Christmas Gift," Del Rio's character takes a "personal day" and does not appear on screen.

In that episode, Billy's colleague and friend Sarah (played by Leah Lewis) talks to him on the phone as he tells her that his girlfriend, Claudia (Bella Ortiz), has experienced a miscarriage, indicating that Billy will take time away from his responsibilities at the Jacobson Moore law firm. Billy did not return in the show's most recent episode, the midseason premiere "Collateral," thoughKathy Bates' Matty said the team has "got him covered."

Deadline Hollywood previously reportedthat the incident in question concerned a sexual assault allegation involving Del Rio's costar Lewis; Del Rio has previously denied the allegation, according to TMZ.

Lewis has not commented on the situation directly, though she posted a vague statement on her Instagram Stories shortly after news of Del Rio's departure broke.

"Mom is here, we're moving forward in love and strength. I'm in good hands," the actress wrote. "Thank you to everybody for any kind of support and care. Truly, we're moving forward in strength. Key word, strength. Please, let that be the takeaway."

NEED TO KNOW

  • On Feb. 10, authorities released chilling Nest surveillance camera pictures and video showing an armed assailant at Nancy's front door wearing a mask and gloves

  • Now, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has revealed that investigators have identified DNA on a glove found two miles from Nancy's house on Feb. 15

In mid-February, two weeks afterNancy Guthriemysteriously vanished in the early morning hours, a glove was found two miles from her Tucson, Ariz., home that looked similar to the ones a masked man was seen wearing on surveillance footage from her front porch.

The glove was tested for DNA, with many hoping it would lead to clues as to who took the 84-year-old mother ofTodayshow co-hostSavannah Guthrie— and why.

In an interview withlocal outlet KVOA, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos revealed that investigators were able to find a match to the DNA found on one of the gloves.

"There was some talk and discussion that it was police officers out in the field just discarding [the gloves], that is so far from the truth," Nanos told the outlet.

"We knew that at that time, we believed wholeheartedly that those gloves belonged to a restaurant and guess what? The owner of the glove, we found working at a restaurant across the street," Nanos said.

"It has nothing to do with the case," Nanos said, per KVOA.

He did not specify which restaurant the person works at or if investigators questioned that individual.

He also said other gloves sent to a Florida lab could be different and DNA testing could take a while, the outlet reported.

"It's a challenge because we know we have DNA, but now we have to deal with that mixture and how we're going to separate it," Nanos said.

Nancy was taken from her Tucson, Ariz., home in the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 1, police said.

Her family called 911 at 12:03 p.m. that day after the mother of three failed to join friends to watch a virtual church service.

The Pima County Sheriff's Office, later joined by the FBI, launched a massive investigation into Nancy's disappearance, saying they believed shewas taken against her will.

Concern for Nancy deepened when Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos revealed that blood spatter found on the front porch belonged to her.

Even more chilling were Nest camerasurveillance photos and video footageauthorities released on Feb. 10 showing a masked, armed man on Nancy's front porch in the early morning hours of Feb. 1.

The FBI Phoenix office sharedadditional details describing the suspectas "a male, approximately 5'9" - 5'10" tall, with an average build. In the video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter 'Ozark Trail Hiker Pack' backpack" that may have been purchased at Walmart.

Investigators revealed that Guthrie's doorbell camera was disconnectedat 1:47 a.m., local time. Shortly after, at 2:12 a.m., the camera detected a dark figure walking toward the house. Sixteen minutes later, at 2:28 a.m., Guthrie's pacemaker was disconnected from the pacemaker app on her cellphone, authorities said.

Law enforcement worked tirelessly to try to find Nancy, to no avail.

In late February, however, a couple who live on a back road about 2.5 miles from Nancy's homereleased new footage, obtained byFOX News, showing a car speeding down the road minutes after police believe she was abducted.

One of the videos the couple released was recorded at around 2:36 a.m. on Feb. 1, about eight minutes after Nancy's pacemaker last synced with her iPhone, according to the sheriff's timeline.

Judge rules against Deion Sanders' son Shilo in bankruptcy lawsuit, will go to trial

A federal bankruptcy judge has issued a ruling against formerColorado footballplayerShilo Sanders, denying a request by Sanders to dismiss a complaint against him from thetrustee overseeing Sanders' bankruptcy case.

USA TODAY Sports

The trustee hadsued Sanders in October, two years after the son of Colorado coachDeion Sandersfiled for bankruptcy in October 2023 in an effort to get out ofmore than $11 million in debt.

The trustee alleged Shilo Sandershad violated bankruptcy lawby making unauthorized transfers of approximately $250,000. The suit sought to recover that money and more, which included Sanders' college income from his name, image and likeness (NIL) through his businesses "Big 21" and "Headache Gang."

In response, Sanders' attorney said the trustee's lawsuit was misguided andsought to have it dismissed. But Judge Michael Romero rejected Sanders' arguments and is allowing the trustee's lawsuit against Sanders to proceed to trial.

"The Court's role in deciding the Motion to Dismiss is not to resolve factual disputes or weigh potential evidence outside the four corners of the Complaint," Judge Michael Romero wrote in his ruling March 4. "The Trustee has otherwise sufficiently pled the necessary elements of his claims. He has also supported his claims with sufficient factual allegations regarding Sanders' bank accounts, his NIL proceeds deposits into the Big 21 Account, and Sanders' control over Big 21 and Headache Gang. Whether the evidence will ultimately substantiate the Trustee's claims is a matter to be decided at trial."

What is this case against Shilo Sanders about?

There aremultiple partsto Sanders' bankruptcy case, including this complaint from the trustee,David Wadsworth, who is tasked with rounding up Sanders' non-exempt assets for the benefit of Sanders' creditors.

This ruling is separate from another pivotal part of Sanders' bankruptcy litigation that isset for trial Aug. 31and does not involve the trustee.

The big issue in the trustee's lawsuit against Sanders isto whom the money in question belongs— the bankruptcy estate or Sanders. Sanders' earnings before he filed the bankruptcy petition generally belong to the bankruptcy estate for the benefit of creditors, while earnings that came from work after the filing belong to Sanders.

What did the judge's ruling against Shilo Sanders mean?

Sanders' attorney, Keri Riley, stated in court documents the money in questionbelonged to Sandersbecause they were "post-petition earnings."

The trustee is disputing that and wants an accounting. The judge basically said this is a matter to be decided at a trial later, not in a motion to dismiss.

"Identifying the true nature of the funds will require presenting evidence and resolving numerous factual issues," the judge ruled. "For example, whether the funds are Sanders' pre- post-petition earnings will depend on the type of services Sanders performed, when he performed them, and the terms of the contract(s) (if any) requiring those services."

Why did Shilo Sanders file for bankruptcy?

Shilo, 26, is the middle son of Deion Sanders. He didn't go into debt because of unpaid loans or overspending on credit cards. He instead was hit with a civil court judgment in Dallas in 2022 that put him on the hook for $11.89 million, all owed to one man,John Darjean, a former security guard at his school in Dallas.

Darjean sued Sanders in 2016, alleging Sanders left him with permanent and severe injuries when he punched and elbowed him in head and neck area at school in 2015, when Shilo was 15. Sanders claimed it was self-defense butdidn't show up for the trial in 2022, which led to the default judgment against him.

Sanders filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2023 after Darjean moved to collect on that debt. Sanders' goal is to get that debt discharged in bankruptcy court. But Darjean is fighting it and arguing the law doesn't allow him to discharge it in this case because the debt stems from a "willful and malicious" injury.

That's the issue in the trial set for Aug. 31. This separate trustee lawsuit has no trial date yet.

Shilo Sanders is currently out of football buthas worked as an influencerand recently considered acting lessons after moving to Miami. He and his brother Shedeur Sanders also recently appeared as fashion models in Paris.
