Furious Aussies slam Olympics hero who sensationally defected to Great Britain and say he should be hit with a radical punishment
Angry Australian sports fans have called for cyclist Matthew Richardson to hand back taxpayer money that funded his path to the Paris Games after the Olympic silver medallist defected to represent Great Britain. Richardson, 25, was born in Maidstone, Kent, in England, before moving to Perth with his family aged nine. He won three medals for Australia in Paris, with silvers in the sprint and keirin and a bronze in the team sprint.
